I'll be filling in for Amy for this update post! Our headline feature this time is one that's been highly requested by players for years...

Item Searching

Item searching is finally here! As you all know, the more you play and the more clothing you acquire, the more irritating to sort through them it becomes! To help remedy this we've added a search bar to the filter menu. Just click the filter button to quickly access the new search bar.

Not only can you search for item names, but we've gone a step further and allowed you to search by special tags! Want an all red outfit? Just type 'red' into the search box and it'll show you everything you own that fits that tag. It doesn't just work with colours though, you can use terms like 'nerd' to show items relating to Gary the Gadget Guy and so much more!

Similarly a favourite button has been added to each clothing slot. This allows for you to favourite specific clothing, which then goes to a new option in the filter menu under 'Favorites'.

We'll be continuing to update the search feature to be more accurate as time goes. We hope everyone enjoys these much needed changes!

What's Next?

The next party coming up on the docket is the Easter Party releasing on April 20th!

We're also hard at work getting new updates across the finish line, such as a big behind the scenes update to the Friends List to increase its performance and allow us to add new features. As well as the long awaited Dance Contest content update! Here's your first sneak peek at that update dropping in May:

Next on our developer introductions is Ryan who joined the team earlier this year and we asked him to introduce himself!

"I am currently a college student attending Iowa State University, double majoring in Data Science and Computer Science and also getting a minor in Statistics. My interests include statistical modeling, database systems, and software engineering. I hope to apply these skills later on past college in the healthcare field to make data more accessible to people worldwide. Some of my current hobbies include playing video games like Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Roblox. I also do a lot of long-distance road cycling. I once did over 400 miles of road cycling in one week! My favorite things to do on Club Penguin are to play Card-Jitsu Fire, attend parties around the island, and hang out at the Pizza Parlor!"

"As a Backend Engineer for New Club Penguin, I plan to focus on designing and optimizing databases to improve the overall system performance. My strong knowledge of MySQL, Neo4J, and other databases will help me with data handling. Additionally, my experience with algorithms and data structures will contribute to building efficient backend systems. I also have strong experience with machine learning models and statistical analysis, which could be useful for data-driven features with the platform."

With this update, Card-Jitsu Fire's bugs have now been squashed & is now being considered as fully functional! Thank you for all the reports and happy playing!

- Fixed Pizza Parlour pixel in the Plaza (Thanks, Alezux!)
