Hey Penguins!
We're going to try and be more consistent with the party recaps as I think the last few parties we didn't do one for various reasons. With that being said, let's take a look at all of the fun that happened during the fair!
The Fair began on July 13th, with the Amazement Park making its return for the first time since 2022. We could play various fair games from Puffle Paddle to Ice Jam and the new Scary Scorn, there are plenty of ways to earn thousands of tickets in the 6 different areas. The Daily Spin was also a good way of earning tickets or coins for free, daily by spinning the wheel!
Playing the new fair game Scary Scorn and defeating Scorn, rewarded you with the special Crown of the Dragon King pin.
There were lots of fun new clothing items to get with your earnt tickets in the fair booth, such as the cotton candy hat and the froggie bag. There were also hats for your puffles as well!
As well as earning prizes, transformations were unlocked as a community by hitting total ticket goals. Transformations such as the ogre potion were particularly fun, making your penguin really small or giant.
Rookie and Scorn also made appearances at the party, the latters first appearance since 2021! Both arriving with returning mascot backgrounds. Here are some snaps from some of the visits! (featuring giant penguins)
We'll now be having a short interview with the lead of the 3D team, Purl and what it was like working on the new 3D penguin models in the lead up to The Fair.

Behind The Beak!

What was it like working on the 3D penguin?
"Well, where do I begin.. Of course it was challenging to replicate an exact model, we spent months testing different techniques to make the penguin more optimal, but every time we made progress on something, it felt like a huge victory. The team did such a nice job, it was always so satisfying to see the results of everyone's tests and how the teamwork would blend together the model we have today."
Were there any challenges you faced during the process, what were they?
"Challenges though.. I'd say the only challenge was making the penguin fit exactly with the references, as source material was limited.. and that was a real pain. We had to come up with a lot of ideas to make it easier, but looking back... the struggle was worth it, I believe many of us learned new things along the way"
What was the most enjoyable part of the work?
"And the most enjoyable part... I did enjoy a lot the modeling part, creating new body parts and test items... The side quests were also pretty fun, like when we had to pause production on the penguin to animate Skip for the 2024 Halloween Party (yup, we've been working on this penguin for a long time)
Many parts of the process are fun for different reasons, but nothing beats the joy of hitting play and seeing the penguin with life doing their silly animations just like the original."
"I do gotta thank the team again for their work as well, their skills are really useful and I admire their work. You will see more of what we're working on soon, because with the current penguin, item production will be way more unlimited, so stay tuned for what's next on the catalogs!"
Thank you for your insights Purl! And that is all for this times recap! We hope you all enjoyed the return of the fair and all of the new items. The Adventure Party will be next, so be sure to join our Discord Server and follow us on our socials to not miss that & any future updates!
